Why Fall AC Maintenance Makes Sense
Remember how you were once told that come Labor Day, no more wearing white clothing? Tell someone that now, and you’ll get “Sez who?!” as a reply.
Or how about having turkey only on Thanksgiving Day, not going swimming after Labor Day, or deep cleaning your house only in the spring? As silly as these and other habits may sound, plenty of people still cling to them like Velcro.
Well, here’s another axiom that should be axed: The only time to have preventive maintenance performed on your AC system is before the cooling season officially gets underway. From our perspective as HVAC service providers, spring probably does make the most sense for preventive maintenance, but spring, summer, or fall, it still makes sense.
Here’s the logic. Let’s say you skip spring maintenance for whatever reason. That’s it? You have to wait another year just because that’s the “rule”? Um, we beg to differ.
That’s because, come fall, your AC system has put in long hours of service to help keep you cool and comfortable. And, even though you may not be able to see or feel it, those long hours take their toll. So, what’s a smart, cost conscious homeowner to do? You have your system cleaned and checked anyway to see how it’s holding up and if any repair issues are emerging that would save you money to take care of now.
That action alone gets you through the rest of the cooling season with greater peace of mind and added assurance that your AC system will be ready when warm weather comes calling again next year.
Here’s another way to look at it. You skip your 5,000 mile car oil change “just because”. Does that mean the moment has passed and you might as well kiss your car goodbye? Or, do you just go ahead and get the oil change at your first opportunity and try to be a little more punctual next time? No brainer, right?
So, if it’s been more than a year since your AC system was last cleaned and inspected, don’t keep putting it off. Call Correct Temp now so we can help keep your system in the best possible condition…for your sake.
